In 2012 Grant Berold teamed up with Nic Johnston to create luxury lifestyle spaces of exceptional quality and livability, and established Karma Properties. Based in Cape Town, Karma Properties is a truly owner-managed business. We work closely with multi-disciplined professionals to consistently deliver on our promise of finely crafted apartments for homeowners and investors.

Grant Berold

After matriculating from Hilton College, Grant graduated from The University of Cape Town with a BCom degree. Prior to the establishment of Karma Properties, he spent 20 years in the manufacture and distribution of high-end branded bathroomware and kitchen finishes. Grant has his own portfolio of properties and has undertaken numerous trips to kitchen and bathroom fairs in the United States of America and Europe to ensure the company aligns itself with the latest cutting edge trends.

Concentrating on the business end of the company, Grant sources new prime location opportunities and consults with stakeholders. Together with his interior decorator wife, Doune, Grant ensures that the best quality interior craftmanship and finishes are presented to buyers.

Nick Johnston

Nick obtained his BSc (Eng) from The University of Cape Town. After working for various building concerns he started his own residential building company, called Cape Dutch Construction. With Nick at the helm, Cape Dutch Construction has built more than 100 houses mainly in Cape Town’s upmarket southern suburbs. Many of these homes have become prominent landmarks.

Nick is known for his inception to completion hands-on approach. He is equally well known for his meticulous attention to building quality, especially the structural work often unseen by the homeowner. These qualities have earned him a credible reputation as one of the best builders in the industry.
